The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Athletics will wrap up their three-game set in Sacramento on Wednesday night with both clubs headed in completely different directions.
The Athletics started the 2026 campaign as one of baseball‘s biggest surprises, but have hit a recent rough patch with four consecutive losses while dropping eight of their last 10 games overall. Mark Kotsay’s squad dropped back-to-back road series against the lowly Giants and Angels last week, and are now on the verge of being swept at home by the defending World Series champs.
This skid has seen the Athletics dip all the way to fourth place in the American League West, as they now trail the Texas Rangers by four games heading into tonight’s matchup. They’ve also fallen quite a bit in the AL Wild Card standings, with Houston, Minnesota, and Toronto now standing in their way as they trail Seattle by 3.5 games for the third and final spot.
Los Angeles, on the other hand, continues to cruise. The Dodgers enter Wednesday’s game amid a four-game winning streak, with seven wins over their last eight contests. They now hold a commanding 12-game lead in the NL West over the second-place Padres and can begin thinking about their quest to become MLB‘s first team to three-peat as champions since the 1998-2000 Yankees.
Dodgers vs. Athletics Odds Today
Despite not having a starter listed for tonight’s game, Los Angeles jumps out as heavy favorites to complete the sweep:
- Moneyline: Dodgers -170, Athletics +140
- Run Line: Dodgers -1.5 (-110), Athletics +1.5 (-110)
- Total: Over 10.5 (-125), Under 10.5 (+105)

Teoscar Hernandez Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
Teoscar just returned from a month-long stint on the IL, and picked up right where he left off in May. Prior to his injury, Hernandez finished the month of May slashing .325/.400/.482 while hitting this number in 14 out of 24 games.
In two games against the Athletics since his return, he managed to clear it both times with a two-hit game in Monday’s series opener while scoring a run and driving in another in Tuesday night’s win. Including those two performances, he’s gone over 1.5 combined hits, runs, and RBI in eight of his last 10 and should be primed to keep the trend going against A’s starter JT Ginn, who’s struggled a bit at home with a 4.07 ERA compared to a 2.31 ERA on the road.
