I just found maybe the most absurd line I’ve seen all World Cup long, and that’s right where I’m going for my Hard Rock Best Bet of the Day.
Give me Australia on the moneyline against Paraguay at +330 odds.
I’ll tell you what, folks, this Australia team looked really impressive in that second half against the United States last Friday. They were able to slow our roll considerably. The defense was overwhelming at times, and I think their physical nature will take Paraguay off its spot.
Look at what Paraguay has done all tournament long. The United States came right out of the gate against them with Folarin Balogun, Christian Pulisic, and the boys scoring all over them. They were really off their game.
Then they came back last week against Turkey, and they were not better whatsoever. I’m talking about controlling only 22% of the possession, getting out-passed by nearly 500 passes, and outshot 33-6.
This is not a good team. I don’t know why the books continue to think it is. Give me Australia here on the moneyline at over a 3-1 payout.
